In this video I show you where to get acupuncture needles to perform self-acupuncture for stress reduction and stress relief and depression.
This is a video by an acupuncture student for people who cannot afford $60/hour acupuncture clinics or $20/hour community acupuncture to treat serious stress conditions that require multiple treatments over a period of weeks or months.
The prescription is as follows, using points on both the right and left sides of the body, with exception to the two Governing Vessel points, which are on the mid-line.
GV-20 (also called DU-20)
ST = Stomach meridian
B = Bladder meridian
LI = Large Intestine meridian
GV = Governing Vessel meridian
I also recommend using a yoga/exercise mat, a pillow, incense and music to promote relaxation during your treatment.
This is a practical guide without explanations of TCM, Traditional Chinese medical theory or Western medical theory. If you’re interested in understanding why it works, I recommend Essentials of Chinese Medicine Volumes 1-3. For reference on acupuncture points, I recommend Peter Deadman’s A Manual of Acupuncture.
Good luck in your treatments.
